Plain English summary: TextForge AI does not store your inputs, does not sell your data, and does not require any account. Your text prompts are processed by DeepSeek AI via OpenRouter and returned directly to you — nothing is saved on our servers. The API key is stored as an encrypted server-side secret by Cloudflare and is never accessible to end users.
Who We Are
TextForge AI ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered text generation tool available at this website. The service allows users to generate professional written content — including bios, product descriptions, emails, social media posts, and slogans — using artificial intelligence.
TextForge AI is a static web application hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The AI generation capability is powered by DeepSeek Chat via the OpenRouter API. We are not affiliated with OpenRouter or DeepSeek beyond our use of their public APIs.
Data We Collect
We collect minimal data. The table below summarizes what is collected, why, and how long it is retained.
| Data type | Why it is collected | Stored by | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Text prompts (your inputs) | To generate AI content via OpenRouter | Not stored — in-transit only | Not retained |
| IP address | Cloudflare network routing & DDoS protection | Cloudflare (infrastructure) | Per Cloudflare policy |
| Basic request logs | Security, abuse prevention, error monitoring | Cloudflare (infrastructure) | Up to 30 days |
| Browser type / user-agent | Cloudflare standard request headers | Cloudflare (infrastructure) | Per Cloudflare policy |
We do not operate our own database. We do not store user accounts, email addresses, names, or generated content on any server we control.
How We Use Data
The text prompts you submit are used solely to generate the requested content. This is how the flow works:
- You fill in the form and click "Generate Now"
- Your browser sends the prompt to our Cloudflare Pages Function (
/api/generate) - The function forwards the prompt to OpenRouter's API using our server-side API key
- OpenRouter sends it to the DeepSeek Chat model
- The generated text is returned to your browser and displayed
- No copy of the prompt or the result is stored anywhere on our infrastructure
Important: Once the result is shown in your browser, it exists only on your device. Refreshing the page or closing it will permanently remove the result — we have no copy.
Data We Never Collect
We are explicit about what we do not collect:
- We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information
- We do not require account creation or login of any kind
- We do not store the text prompts you submit
- We do not store the AI-generated results
- We do not run advertising networks or sell data to third parties
- We do not use tracking pixels, session recording tools, or behavioral analytics
- We do not collect payment information (the service is free)
Third-Party Services
TextForge AI relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Cloudflare Pages & Workers — Hosts the website and runs server-side functions. Cloudflare may log request metadata (IP, user-agent, timestamps) as part of their infrastructure operations. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- OpenRouter — Routes AI requests to the DeepSeek model. Your prompts are sent to OpenRouter's API. See OpenRouter's Privacy Policy.
- DeepSeek — Processes the AI prompts and generates responses. See DeepSeek's Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts — Loads the Exo 2, Syne, and DM Sans typefaces. Google may log font requests. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Note: We do not control how these third parties handle data on their end. We encourage you to review their privacy policies. We have chosen providers known for strong privacy practices and have configured our integration to minimize data exposure.
Cookies & Local Storage
TextForge AI does not set any tracking cookies. We use the browser's localStorage solely for one technical purpose:
- Storing your OpenRouter API key locally in your browser so you do not need to re-enter it on each visit (if you choose to save it)
This data lives entirely on your device. It is never sent to our servers. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data, or by using your browser's developer tools to remove the openrouter_key localStorage entry.
Cloudflare may set functional cookies for security purposes (e.g., bot detection). These are strictly necessary and not used for advertising or tracking.
Data Retention
Since we do not store user data or generated content, there is no personal data retention on our part. The only data retained is:
- Cloudflare infrastructure logs — retained by Cloudflare for up to 30 days as part of their standard network operations. We do not have the ability to query or export individual request data from these logs.
- Your localStorage — retained on your device until you clear it. Only you control this data.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable data protection laws (such as the GDPR in the European Union, or CCPA in California). Because we do not collect or store personal data, most of these rights are automatically satisfied. Specifically:
- Right to access — We hold no personal data about you that we could provide
- Right to erasure — There is no stored data to delete on our side
- Right to portability — No data to export
- Right to object to processing — We do not process personal data for profiling or marketing
- Right to opt out of sale — We do not sell any data
If you believe we have collected data about you in any way not described in this policy, please contact us using the details in Section 12 and we will investigate promptly.
Children's Privacy
TextForge AI is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted personal information through our service, please contact us immediately. Since we do not retain user data, any such information would not persist beyond the active session.
Security
We take security seriously. The following measures are in place to protect the service and any data in transit:
- HTTPS everywhere — All traffic between your browser and our service is encrypted via TLS
- Server-side API key — The OpenRouter API key is stored as an encrypted Cloudflare environment secret, never exposed in client-side code or browser storage on our side
- No database — There is no database to breach; we store no user data
- Cloudflare DDoS protection — The service is protected by Cloudflare's enterprise-grade network security
- Input validation — All requests are validated server-side before being forwarded to OpenRouter
No method of data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security during transit through third-party networks.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of TextForge AI after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will make it prominently visible on the homepage.
